Most Yellowstone National Park roads, plus the West, South and East entrances, close to regular vehicle traffic on Nov 1. Saturday, Oct 31 is the last day to drive most of the park in 2026.

What stays open: the road from the North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana, to the Northeast Entrance at Cooke City and Silver Gate, through Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Junction and Lamar Valley. It's open year-round, weather permitting. Dunraven Pass, between Tower Fall and Canyon Junction, stays open through Oct 31, weather permitting. The gateway towns stay open all year.

What's next: oversnow travel by snowmobile and snowcoach begins Dec 15. For West Yellowstone, that's the switch from road-trip season to sled season.
