Whitewater rafting in Moab

Rafting from Moab means the Colorado River, and the trip length picks the stretch. Fisher Towers is the half- or full-day float upstream of town. Westwater Canyon is the harder whitewater near the state line. Cataract Canyon, inside Canyonlands National Park, is a multi-day expedition.

Fisher Towers day trips

• Wild West Voyages: the full day is $148 per person on a shared trip, 6.5 to 7 hours with about 5.5 on the river, ages 5 and up and at least 50 lbs. The half day is $99 for 4.5 hours, at least 2.5 of them on the water.
• OARS: the one-day Fisher Towers trip is $149 per adult and $134 per youth at 2026 rates, Class II–III, minimum age 5.
• Red River Adventures: full and half days from $77, April through October (redriveradventures.com).
• Paddle Moab: a 4-hour class II/III trip in 6-person paddle rafts, ages 7 and up.

World Wide River Expeditions runs a 7-hour full-day Fisher Towers trip from $97, minimum age 4 (worldwideriver.com).

Half day or full day: Wild West Voyages' half day costs $49 less than its full day and is 2 to 2.5 hours shorter on the clock. The full day has about 5.5 hours on the river against at least 2.5 on the half day.

Westwater Canyon

NAVTEC Expeditions runs Westwater in one 9-hour day for $248, Class III–IV, through rapids including Funnel Falls and Skull. OARS runs Westwater over 2 or 3 days from $669 to $1,199, with a minimum age of 12, or 16 in high water.

Cataract Canyon

• Colorado River & Trail Expeditions: 4 days from $1,795 in May and June (minimum age 12), 5 days for $2,095 in July, 7 days for $3,095 in April and May (crateinc.com).
• Western River Expeditions: 4 days at $2,050 per adult and $1,750 per youth for 2026.
• World Wide River Expeditions: 3 days from $1,050.

Season

Adrift Adventures, which runs Fisher Towers, Westwater and Cataract, runs river tours March through October. Red River Adventures runs April through October. Cataract departures cluster in spring and early summer, from April to July in the dates above (adrift.net).

Minimum ages by trip

• Age 5: Fisher Towers with Wild West Voyages or OARS.
• Age 7: Paddle Moab's paddle-raft trip.
• Age 12: Cataract Canyon with Colorado River & Trail Expeditions, and Westwater with OARS (16 in high water).
