Ziplining near Boone

Reviewed by the Seeking Adrenaline team · Updated Oct 16, 2026

Part of Boone adventure destination.

Zipline courses around Boone sit on the ridges toward Blowing Rock and Seven Devils. They differ in course length, the add-ons beyond the cables, and the weight and age limits that decide who in the group can go.

Prices checked Oct 2026 on each course's site.

Courses

  • Sky Valley Zip Tours: 10 ziplines on 140 acres, a 120-foot swinging bridge and a cliff jump and rappel with a 45-foot descent. Ages 10 to 17 pay $95; 18 and up pay $105.
  • High Gravity Adventures: the zip tour is $80. The Ultimate Adventure package is $100.
  • Hawksnest Zipline: the Eagle Tour has 9 cables covering almost 3 miles, two of them longer than 2,000 feet, in 1.5 to 2 hours. The Hawk Tour has 11 cables over 1.5 miles in the same 1.5 to 2 hours, from age 5.

Long cables or more cables

Pick the Eagle Tour for long runs: two of its cables pass 2,000 feet. Pick the Hawk Tour for more launches on a shorter course. Sky Valley adds things that are not cables at all: the swinging bridge and the cliff jump.

Weight and age limits

  • Sky Valley: ages 10 and up, 70 to 250 lbs. Its Whistle Pig kids course takes children from age 4.
  • High Gravity: 75 to 265 lbs. Children ages 7 to 10 zip with an adult.
  • Hawksnest Hawk Tour: age 5 and up.

High Gravity's 265-lb upper limit is 15 lbs above Sky Valley's. Sky Valley's 70-lb minimum and age 10 start leave younger children on the Whistle Pig course.

Doing both Hawksnest tours

Hawksnest's Do It All package combines all 20 cables from the Hawk and Eagle tours, including all 4 mega zips and 3 swinging bridges (hawksnestzipline.com).

Fall and winter hours

High Gravity runs Wednesday to Sunday from September 9 to November 1 and again from November 4 to 22, then daily from November 25 to 29 except Thanksgiving, with a limited winter schedule after that (highgravityadventures.com).

Picking a course

  • Longest single cables: Hawksnest's Eagle Tour.
  • Most variety: Sky Valley, with the bridge and the rappel.
  • Kids 5 to 9: the Hawksnest Hawk Tour, or High Gravity with an adult from age 7.
