Birdman Academy flies hang gliding and paragliding tandems at Point of the Mountain in Draper. A tandem flight puts a first-timer in the air alongside an experienced instructor, so no prior flying is needed to feel what free flight is like. The academy is built around careful progression, and no flyer moves higher on the hill until both the instructor and the student feel confident, which keeps risk low. Flyers who catch the bug can go on to the academy training program, and the shop also sells equipment.
