Indoor Skydiving vs Tandem Skydive

Indoor skydiving is a wind tunnel on the ground. A tandem skydive is a jump from an aircraft with an instructor, freefall, then a canopy ride to landing. They share a belly-to-earth body position. They do not share a plane, a parachute, or the same day shape.

If someone says “I went skydiving” after a tunnel flight, they mean the float feel — not a licensed jump. Want the aircraft? See the Skydiving.

Which Should You Book?

Want the body-flight feel without jumping? Book a tunnel. Want to leave an airplane? Book a tandem. Neither is a warm-up the other requires.

FAQ

Does tunnel practice help before tandem? Some people like the body position practice. It is optional, not a prerequisite, and it is not AFF curriculum.

Same age rules? No. Confirm each operator’s posted minimums.
