Things to do in Moab for first-time visitors

A first Moab day is one trail product, not three. Pick a guided jeep or a guided UTV. Add a river half-day only if the morning is already booked.

Best for

• Guided jeep or UTV on a named trail. Hell's Revenge is the name you will see. A first-timer does not have to start there.
• One river block if the season has flow: raft or jet boat.
• Leave the tower climb and the canyon for day two.

Less ideal

Skip on day one: a self-drive rental on Hell's Revenge, a midday summer start, a hike you are treating as the adventure plan.

March–May and September–November. In June–August, take the first departure and stop by noon.
